The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office concluded a successful weekend of DUI enforcement as part of the Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force.
The Task Force ran from March 16th through March 18th and targeted the Eleven Mile Corner area between Coolidge and Casa Grande. Saturation patrols were deployed to identify drivers suspected of operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
A Pinal County jury on Friday, April 13, 2012 found Herman Lee Green Sr. guilty of 41 counts that included child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, child abuse and aggravated assault against a person under the age of 15.
Green 43, of Casa Grande was convicted of crimes committed from 2000 to 2010 against his own four children. The case came to light on September 2010, when one of the children contacted police and said her father was abusing her sexually for the past nine years.

An unknown number of suspects used bolt cutters to gain access inside a locked side gate on airport property and then cut a second lock to obtain a jet fuel tank belonging to a local helicopter service.
The tank was attached to a 16' black utility trailer. The tank itself is a 600 gallon, aluminum jet fuel tank with a fixed pump, filter and hose reel. There was approximately 375 gallons of fuel in the tank at the time of the theft. Value of the tank and fuel contents is estimated to be around $10,000.

FLORENCE, Ariz. – When Sylvia Shafer joined the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy in May of 1980, there were almost as many horses and cattle in Pinal County as there were people.
“It was vast, wide open spaces,” Shafer recalled, “Very agriculture.”
After working with PCSO for over a year, a job for a police officer opened up in a nearby city which she applied for and was accepted, but Shafer quickly learned bigger didn’t mean better.
“I missed the people, the rural lifestyle,” Shafer said.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisor's meeting that took place yesterday, March 14th, was packed. Many of those in attendance were waiting anxiously to hear from Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu regarding his budget.

During the Feb 22nd BOS meeting, Sheriff Paul Babeu was not present and his budget was not presented. An extension was granted until the March 14th Board meeting.
