Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is advising taxpayers who paid their tax liability by paper check to be patient as the department processes the payment. In a recent statement, the department suggested waiting for 8-10 weeks before contacting them about an uncashed payment. In the meantime, taxpayers are advised to check with their financial institution to see if the payment has cleared their account.
The department has also reminded taxpayers that they will not incur late-payment penalties if the payment is postmarked by the due date. However, to ensure the payment is processed accurately and on time, taxpayers must provide the correct amount on the line and box, as well as the tax identification number and tax period they want the payment applied for in the check memo.SanTanValley.com is your #1 resource for anything in and around San Tan Valley, AZ.
