One Week Left to Renew 2026 Transaction Privilege Tax Licenses
Arizona businesses have about one week remaining to renew their 2026 Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) license before the January 1 deadline.
According to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR), businesses that do not renew by January 1, 2026 risk falling out of compliance. Licenses that are neither renewed nor canceled by January 31 will continue to accrue additional penalties, even if the business is no longer operating.
Fastest Way to RenewThe quickest and easiest way to renew is online through AZTaxes.gov, where taxpayers can file, pay, and renew in one place. State law requires businesses with multiple locations to complete their renewal electronically.
ADOR recommends reviewing renewal steps carefully before submitting to reduce errors and avoid delays.
Remote Sellers and Marketplace FacilitatorsRemote sellers and marketplace facilitators without a physical presence in Arizona must renew their TPT license if they had more than $100,000 in gross sales to Arizona customers.
If a business did not meet that threshold, it may consider canceling its TPT license for 2026 instead of renewing.
Marijuana-Related BusinessesMarijuana businesses should not renew their excise tax license, but they must renew their TPT license annually, just like other businesses operating in Arizona.
License Certificates and Address UpdatesOnce renewal fees are fully paid, ADOR will mail the TPT License Certificate to the mailing address on file. Businesses are encouraged to verify or update their mailing address before renewing to ensure documents are sent to the correct location.
Businesses No Longer OperatingBusinesses that have closed or are no longer operating must cancel their TPT license to avoid unnecessary renewal fees and penalties. Canceling also helps keep the account history in good standing.
With the renewal deadline just days away, ADOR encourages business owners to act now to avoid penalties and ensure continued compliance for 2026.
