ADOR Sending Late Notices for 2026 TPT License Renewals

Businesses across Arizona may begin seeing late notices in the mail if they have not yet renewed their 2026 Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) license.

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) has started issuing late renewal billing letters to businesses with unpaid license fees. The annual renewal deadline was January 1, 2026.

State officials are urging business owners to take action quickly to avoid additional penalties and keep their accounts in good standing.

What Businesses Need to Do

If your business has not renewed its 2026 TPT license, here are the next steps:

Pay the license fee

  • Businesses can no longer complete a full renewal online
  • However, payments can still be made through AZTaxes.gov
  • Paying online is the fastest way to resolve the issue

If your business is closed

  • You must cancel your TPT license
  • This can be done through AZTaxes.gov or by submitting a Business Account Update form
  • Failing to cancel the license may result in ongoing penalties and interest

Mailing payments or documents
All renewal-related mail must be sent to:

Arizona Department of Revenue
Attn: License and Registration
PO Box 29082
Phoenix, AZ 85038-9082

Sending payments to the wrong address may delay processing.

Important Reminders

ADOR also shared several key reminders for business owners:

  • Operating without a valid TPT license is a class 3 misdemeanor
  • Once fees are paid in full, a new license certificate will be mailed to the address on file
  • Keeping your mailing address and account information updated is critical to receiving notices on time
Why This Matters

The TPT license is required for businesses conducting taxable activity in Arizona. Missing the renewal deadline can lead to penalties, interest, and potential legal issues if not addressed.

Businesses that receive a late notice are encouraged to respond promptly to avoid further complications and ensure they remain compliant with state requirements.
