ADOR Opens 2026 TPT License Renewal Season

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) has officially opened the 2026 Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) License Renewal season, launching earlier than ever to give businesses additional time to renew on schedule. Letters and emails are being sent to notify businesses that the renewal cycle is now underway.

Renewal Deadline
TPT licenses are valid for one calendar year, from January 1 through December 31. All businesses must renew by January 1, 2026. Renewals submitted after January 31, 2026 will be subject to fees and late penalties—even for licenses issued late in the year.

Online Renewal Required
  • Businesses with multiple locations or with more than $500 in annual total tax liability must renew online through AZTaxes.gov
  • in compliance with state law (A.R.S. § 42-5014).
  • Businesses with an existing AZTaxes account must also renew online and will not receive a paper form.
  • Out-of-state businesses without an Arizona physical presence must renew if they had more than $100,000 in sales to Arizona customers during the year.
  • Marijuana excise tax licenses are exempt from renewal, but marijuana TPT licenses must be renewed annually.

If the renewal option does not appear in an account, it may indicate the TPT license is not linked to the user account or the primary user has not provided delegate access. ADOR provides guidance on managing user access on its website.

Renewal Fees & Payment Options
Fees are due at the time of renewal and can be paid online with e-check or ACH debit if set up in advance. Payments must include the license number and "Renewal 2026."

Important Reminders

  • Update owner and officer information before renewing. Licenses cannot be processed if the listed signer is not authorized.
  • Businesses should review their filing frequency and make adjustments if their estimated TPT liability has changed. Filing frequency changes cannot be made if there are existing delinquencies.
