J.O. Combs Unified School District and Combs High School are proud to announce that Jessica Furman, CHS Math Teacher, has been awarded National Board Certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching.

Combs Middle School seventh grade honors students recently participated in the ASU Honeywell Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge at the ASU Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, Arizona.

J.O. Combs Middle School students will have several exciting new elective course options to choose from for the 2017-2018 school year.

The advanced Ag Science students at Combs High School are involved in building raised plant beds with a hands-on project. After the initial build of the greenhouses, students are now involved in implementing scientific practices by mixing their soil with the proper proportions of water and plant nutrients. The students will be growing all the vegetables needed to make salsa for the CHS staff.

Preschool Pathfinders is a new club at Simonton Elementary in San Tan Valley.

Students in grades 5 and 6 apply to be a leader in the preschool classrooms to support our youngest Stallions.

Jack W. Harmon Elementary School's annual Veterans Day Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, November 10th at 9:30 am. The students and staff invite all members of our community who have served in our nation's armed forces to attend the assembly.

Each spring, students in 3rd through 12th grades take the AzMERIT test in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students are assessed on their proficiency with state standards in both content areas and results are shared with schools and the community in the fall. Combs Traditional Academy, a “back-to-basics” school of choice in the J.O. Combs Unified School District in San Tan Valley, once again earned high marks in student proficiency on the assessment.

Ellsworth Elementary will be honoring each branch of the military with a Veterans Day assembly on November 10th at 1:30 pm.

Students in grades 3rd - 6th will be writing poems to give to each Veteran along with a poppy flower, which is a symbol of remembrance.

“Congratulations” to the Combs Middle School baseball team for winning the Desert Middle School League Tournament Championship 2-0 defeating Cactus Canyon Junior High of Apache Junction.

The POPS (Program for Outstanding Preschool Students) classrooms at Ranch Elementary are filled with preschool students that receive special education services as well as typical peers who are in the class to be peer models.

Pursuant to 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §58.10 Pinal County Air Quality will make its annual monitoring network plan available for public inspection for 30 days prior to submission to the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The Pinal County Open Space and Trails Department, in partnership with Maricopa County's Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Queen Creek, invite the community to an open house on Thursday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the San Tan Mountain Regional Park nature center, 6533 W. Phillips Road.

Throughout the second semester, Combs Middle School eighth grade students have had the opportunity to create their own science project.

J.O. Combs Middle School Orchestra, Band, and Choir students participated in the Heritage Festival in California this past Saturday.

Students at Combs Traditional Academy, a K-6 school in the J.O. Combs Unified School District, are eagerly preparing to show off what they have learned and celebrate the school year on Tuesday, May 17th from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Combs staff members not only serve the students and families within San Tan Valley, but they also serve in leadership roles outside of the school district.

The third and fourth grade students at Ranch Elementary are being treated to an excellent musical learning opportunity due to the generous donation of 40 ukuleles from the Kala Brand Music Company.

Congratulations to Brandon Wu, 11th grade student at Combs High School as his beautiful drawing titled 'Taking It Easy' was chosen as the Best of Show for the Arizona Junior Duck Stamp competition.
