Flu season under way in Arizona

Health officials are confirming the first flu case of the season. Both the state and Maricopa County say an unvaccinated woman in her early 30s is now recovering at home.

Florence prison operator allowed sexual harassment, lawsuit says

A federal agency filed a lawsuit last week alleging a private company that operates prisons in Florence sexually harassed and retaliated against female employees.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's lawsuit against GEO Group Inc. alleged the company and some male managers supervising correctional officers fostered a "sexual and sex-based hostile work environment" at two Florence prisons that allowed harassment and retaliation against female employees.

Festival of the Superstitions begins Thursday

On October 1st at 3:22 a.m. Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the “Lounge Bar” located at 13030 S. Sunland Gin Road in Arizona City regarding an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon their arrival, deputies met with two adult males who claimed to have been shot at by unknown individuals who also attempted to rob them.
