New Year's Eve Fireworks Safety
If your New Year's Eve celebrations include fireworks at home, please remember to celebrate safely and neighborly. It is important to remember that the only legal consumer fireworks are ground displays and sparkling devices; any devices that rise into the air and explode/detonate or fly above the ground are illegal (i.e., bottle rockets, aerials, and single tube devices shot up into the air).
State statute determines when legal consumer fireworks can be sold and used; the use of fireworks is restricted to December 24 - January 3. Illegal fireworks are never permitted. Legal consumer fireworks are only allowed on private property. Individuals who use, discharge, or ignite permissible consumer fireworks are responsible and liable for expenses due to any required emergency response.Please remember during your time of celebration that fireworks are dangerous, and it is important to be cautious. Additionally, please be considerate of your neighbors, PTSD victims, and pets and livestock when celebrating the holiday with fireworks.
