Deal reached to settle Arizona school funding lawsuit
Biggs would not provide details of the agreement, saying it would be unfair to lawmakers for them to learn about it in the media.
The tentative agreement comes after weeks of negotiations between schools, Republican legislative leaders and Gov. Doug Ducey's staff. Those talks were jump started by the failure in August of mediation between school districts and lawmakers.
Courts have ordered the Legislature to immediately pay an additional $331 million a year to schools for failing to fund annual inflation boosts but the case is under appeal.
