Flu season hitting early, hard in some places

If you haven't already, now's the time to get your flu shot. The flu season is officially upon us. Although it is just beginning, the CDC is already reporting widespread infection rates in several states including Alabama, Louisiana and New York. But Texas has been the hardest hit, reporting at least five deaths from the H1N1 strain, also known as swine flu.
The Vineyard Community Pregnancy Center exists to help pregnant teens and new moms and dads of all ages with all the steps related to pregnancy and early-child care and health. The Vineyard Community Pregnancy Center is the latest in a string of services being provided by the Vineyard Community Center in Queen Creek, AZ.   
Influenza season has officially started in Pinal County. The first case of influenza for this season has been identified in a male resident from the Apache Junction area. This case was mild and the individual did not need to be hospitalized. 
Like any parent, Pamela DePalma has made sacrifices to help her son, Daniel, who has Aspergers Syndrome. She moved from Illinois to Phoenix, Arizona, seeking better services. It was there that she met Rhonda Whitaker, a child development specialist who worked with Daniel. She created a game, using Monopoly pieces, designed to teach social skills to older children with autism.
The San Tan Valley Substance Coalition, has partnered with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department, Rural Metro, all Pinal County Agencies touched by behavioral health, and both state health care authorities, Mercy Maricopa and Cenpatico, since 2013 in order to obtain and make substance abuse and mental health treatment services readily available to San Tan Valley and Florence residents.
Thanks to the hard work of the San Tan Valley Substance Abuse Coalition and great partnerships with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, Rural Metro, all Pinal County Agencies touched by behavioral health, and both state health care authorities, Mercy Maricopa and Cenpatico, substance abuse and mental health treatment services are now readily available to San Tan Valley and Florence residents.
