Guided Reptile Hike

Look for and learn about reptiles of the Sonoran Desert during this guided hike with Ranger Eric.

Join Ranger Eric for a guided hike along the Rock Peak Wash Trail to look for reptiles of the Sonoran Desert. Along the way, we will discuss identification tips, their ecological roles, and safety around venomous animals. We will hike 2-3 miles roundtrip on easy, but sandy terrain of a desert wash. Please wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks for yourself. The hike may be shortened if extreme heat is forecasted.

MEETING LOCATION: Rock Peak Wash Trailhead at the south end of the park
Restrooms are not available at the trailhead, but are available at the Nature Center.

Limit 10 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 7 with your name, phone number and number attending.

If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.
