As Summer draws near and the school year winds down, we begin gearing up for one of the library's biggest annual events: the Summer Reading Program!

Designed to encourage kids and teens to keep up the reading habit while they're out of school, the Summer Reading Program provides incentives and fun events to help kids maintain their literacy skills.

The basics are easy:

  • register for the program at your local library
  • find out how to keep track of your reading
  • Complete the program
  • Win a prize!

There are also free events at your libraries throughout the summer to keep kids engaged.

Each location runs their program a little differently, so check with your local library for details about when and how to sign up.  The two closest Pinal County libraries that San Tan Valley residents can access for FREE are located in Florence and Apache Junction.  You can also use your Pinal County library card at the Central Arizona College San Tan Valley campus library.
