Where to Take an Old Appliance in San Tan Valley
When a refrigerator, washer or dryer gives out, San Tan Valley residents have several nearby places that will take it, plus two ways to skip the heavy lifting entirely.
Buying a Replacement? Ask About Haul-Away
The easiest route is to never touch the old unit at all. Many retailers will haul away your old appliance when they deliver the new one, usually for a fee. Ask about haul-away when you place the order, not on delivery day, so the delivery crew comes prepared and you know the cost up front.
The County's Recycling Option
Pinal County's Material Recovery Center accepts what the recycling industry calls white appliances, meaning major appliances made mostly of metal. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters all fit. The county says it takes all types as long as they are not plastic.
The center is at 12725 E. Adamsville Road in Florence. Call 520-866-6685 before you load the truck to confirm hours, fees and anything you need to do first, such as having the doors removed.
Landfills Nearby That Take Appliances
Two private landfills in the area also accept household loads. Both are businesses, not county facilities, and their rules and prices change, so call ahead to confirm hours and fees before you go.
- Red Rock Landfill, formerly known as the RAD landfill, 22316 S. Harmon Road, Florence, 480-983-9101. The operator lists white goods, its term for appliances, among the items it accepts.
- Republic Services Cactus Landfill, 22481 E. Deep Well Ranch Road, Florence, 480-797-0140.
Pinal County's current facilities list also includes the Republic Services Central Arizona Transfer Station on Hunt Highway near the Florence line. Call 602-237-2074 first for the exact address, hours and whether your load qualifies.
If You Want Someone Else to Haul It
Local companies will pick up a single appliance from your garage or curb for a fee. You can find them in the SanTanValley.com business directory under Home Services & Contractors.
More options for trash and recycling of all kinds are on our Trash, Recycling & Disposal page.
Before you load anything, make one phone call. The Material Recovery Center at 520-866-6685 can tell you whether your appliance qualifies for recycling and what the trip will cost.
