Schools & Family in the San Tan Valley Area
This guide covers school districts, the library, and family resources in the San Tan Valley area. On a phone? Tap any number to call.
School districts didn't change
One point deserves emphasis because it comes up often: incorporation did not change school district boundaries. Children attend the same district they did before the Town of San Tan Valley existed. School districts are independent governmental bodies with their own elected boards, separate from both the Town and Pinal County.
The San Tan Valley area is served by two districts, depending on where you live:
| District | Phone |
| Florence Unified School District | 520-866-3500 |
| J.O. Combs Unified School District | 480-987-5300 |
To find your district: boundaries do not follow the town line, ZIP codes, or neighborhood names. Call either district with your address and staff will confirm which district serves it, or check the district's boundary lookup.
Registering your child
Registration runs through your district, not through the Town or the county. Each district handles its own enrollment, open enrollment requests, transfers, and school-of-choice questions.
Call the district office above and ask for enrollment. Have your address, proof of residency, your child's birth certificate, and immunization records ready. Need immunization records or shots? The Pinal County Public Health Clinic on Gantzel Rd handles both.
Higher education
Central Arizona College - 520-494-5111
Central Arizona College serves the area with campus locations and programs across Pinal County - including the San Tan Campus right here in the area - with career and technical programs, transfer degrees, and continuing education.
The library
San Tan Valley Library - 520-866-8035
31505 N. Schnepf Rd
The library is part of the Pinal County library district, which serves everyone in the area regardless of which side of the town line you live on. That has not changed with incorporation.
Beyond books, county libraries typically offer story times, children's and teen programs, computer and internet access, and meeting space. See what's coming up at the library on our Take the Kids calendar.
The Town of San Tan Valley's offices are located in the same complex, at 31505 N. Schnepf Rd, Suite #101.
Family resources and help
These organizations are the starting points for families who need assistance:
| Pinal County general information | 520-509-3555 |
| Pinal County Public Health Clinic - San Tan Valley | 866-960-0633 |
| Mental Health Services | 480-317-2213 |
| Suicide & Crisis Lifeline | 988 |
| Community Alliance Against Family Abuse (CAAFA) | 877-982-0196 or 480-982-0196 |
| Victim's Services (Pinal County) | 800-420-8689 |
Food distributions, assistance programs, resource fairs, benefits enrollment help, and support groups are often the fastest help available in a given week - they're all listed on our Get Help calendar.
Kids' activities
Between the library, the regional park, youth sports leagues, and community events, the San Tan Valley area offers more for families than many newcomers expect.
Two calendars are especially useful for families:
- Take the Kids - story times, kids' programs, family events, camps and classes
- Schools & Youth Sports - school events, athletics, league sign-ups
