QC landmark preparing for Feb. 9 Good Life Festival
Restaurants live for the days their customers call a dish “the best thing I ever ate.” In the case of the Queen Creek Olive Mill, their kalamata salami sandwich was named that by celebrity chef Beau MacMillan on the Food Network television show of the same name in 2010.
The sandwich is made with del Piero kalamata salami — salami made with kalamata olives grown at the Olive Mill and ground exclusively for the Olive Mill by The Pork Shop of Queen Creek, Rob Holmes, the Olive Mill’s general manager, told the Independent during a phone interview. It also includes genoa salami, spicy capicola, herb roasted tomatoes, seasonal greens, provolone cheese, red onion, white balsamic and herb crema, all on a grilled ciabattini roll.Learn to take quality photos on your cellphone

Baltimore Ravens Win Super Bowl XLVII
As many of you know now, the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 and have been "crowned" the Super Bowl Champions. To get a little more buzz locally, we, SanTanValley.com, decided to run a contest on our facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/santanvalleyonline.
We asked everyone to head over to our facebook page and comment with the winning team and their choice of either $25 or the amount of the winning team's score.
We had over 100 entries and we selected one very luck winner - her name is Jen Pollum Kimble! Not only did Jen pick the Baltimore Ravens, but she also took a gamble and chose SCORE! So instead of the $25 that she could have won - she won $34! Congratulations to Jen and thank you to everyone that played along.Almon
I'm a great fan of ear scratches and belly rubs, I also love to snuggle on the sofa.
The big game is on soon, and I'd sure love to watch it with you.
I'm a calm fellow and prefer to hang out with quiet types like myself.
Come by the shelter, ask for Almon.
