You know when you on are a date with someone, you think things are going great and you lean in for that first kiss and he/she pulls back and gives you a confused glare? I haven't experienced that, but others tell me it's not good. After the pause - I learned about the deleted files and told him not to worry just yet.
You can Recuva it! Saying it out loud I felt a little like Elmer Fudd. It's not street slang, Recuva is a great free product that helps recover your files from your Windows PC, digital camera, or MP3 player.
Recuva is a product made by the company Piriform. They also make another one of my favorite programs - CCleaner. Each of these are free for the home user, but if it works for you Piriform would gladly accept a donation to help them continuing to make such great programs. Recuva is only $34.95 for the business user, and that comes with premium business support.
The download and install is quick and easy. The file is only about two and a half megabytes in size and it will install on just about every version of Windows (as long as you're running Windows 2000 or later). Once installed, I recommend that you open the Recuva Wizard. It really is elementary from here. When using a USB cable to connect your camera to the PC make sure that the USB is connected and the camera is turned on. If the files that you want to recover are on your digital camera select the "Pictures" radio button.

My customer and I were both surprised on how fast the scan was. A scan of any kind always depends on your computer speed and size of the drive being scanned. In this case it was a 2 gigabyte flash drive. Right away, he said "there are my pics!".

Once scanning is completed you can see the pictures found by Recuva with empty boxes next to them. Simply check the boxes next to the pictures that you want and select the recover button on the bottom right of the wizard. You will get a pop-up asking where you want to save your newly recovered files, then you're done. It really is pretty crazy how easy it was for us to do, and it can be for you too. There are more advanced scans that Recuva can do also. I recommend to give it a try if the quick wizard doesn't work for you or if you're just feeling adventurous.
Let me know if this story helps you, or if you have questions about something else.
