With the remnants of Tropical Storm Javier bearing down on Southern Arizona, Pinal County Public Works wants residents to know if they need sandbags, many maintenance yards stand ready with sand and bags.

With thunderstorms occurring in southern Arizona and extreme weather possible elsewhere in the state, drivers should leave prepared and be ready to wait out heavy rain, high winds and blowing dust.

The driver of a Chevrolet Pickup truck is recovering in the hospital this morning after he drove into the side of a train that was crossing Arizona Farms Road, east of Hunt Highway at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Pinal County deputies arrested a San Tan Valley couple after their 2-year-old boy was found abandoned outside his residence in the 700 block of E. Payton Street. The parents, Brent Daley, 27, and Brianne Daley, 25 were arrested for child endangerment and child neglect after they left the child home alone for up to 90 minutes.
