Ready for spring showers? Rain, cooler temps headed our way this week

Change is in the air, and coolers temperatures are here.

It could be a welcome change for some, after a record-breaking ten straight days in the 90s.

A strong cold front will be moving through town starting late Wednesday.

Clouds and winds will also increase.

There's even some rain in the forecast.

Rain is likely in Phoenix area late Wednesday evening and into Wednesday night.

But meteorologists say rainfall totals look to be light, generally less than a quarter of an inch for the Valley.

Breezy to locally windy conditions are expected ahead of a cold front that will move into western Arizona on Wednesday and through the Valley overnight tonight.

Expect a high of 84 degrees in the Valley on Wednesday and warming to just 70 degrees on Thursday.

It will be windy again on Thursday.

The chance of rain is decent Wednesday night with about a 50 percent chance for the Valley.

Light showers are possible again on Thursday, especially in the morning.

Rainfall amounts are expected to be less than a quarter of an inch.

In the high country, snow levels fall to 6500 feet by Thursday morning, but only light accumulation is expected.

Some showers will linger on Thursday. But after that, it's back to normal.

A slow warmup is expected back to the upper 70s and low 80s by the weekend, with another slight chance of rain Saturday night.
