The first Catholic Parish in San Tan area, St. Michael the Archangel, will hold its Ground Breaking Ceremony on Saturday, May 4th at 1:00 pm.  The ground breaking will be for the first phase of the complex-- the Parish Hall, which will be used as a church until the congregation is ready to build.  Today, the congregation celebrates Mass at Copper Basin K-8 School but is rapidly outgrowing that space and is looking forward to welcoming its own building.

Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas will be present to conduct the ceremony.  Eventually, the new church will be the largest church building in the Diocese of Tucson, with a planned 2000 seating capacity.  The Tucson Diocese shares a border with the Phoenix Diocese along the Pinal / Maricopa County line, just east of the Town of Queen Creek.  It is in the oldest diocese in the State of Arizona and includes active parishes that are nearly 300 years old.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an endangered runaway juvenile from the San Tan Valley area who has just recently moved to Arizona.

Kevin Fleming Jr., 16-years-old, recently moved to Arizona with his parents because his father was transferred for work. Kevin is not adjusting to the new location and has become depressed.

On April 25th, Kevin left his home in the morning and never returned. Kevin’s parents called the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office to report their son had run away. Kevin has not been active on social media sites and did not have a cell phone with him when he left the house. Due to the fact, Kevin is new to Arizona and is home-schooled and is unfamiliar with the area, Kevin’s parents are concerned for his well-being.

Another Arizona summer is fast approaching and after an off-season of relatively low-maintenance, pool owners are gearing up for a few hot months of chemicals, brushing and clogged skimmers. But swimmers in San Tan Valley have a new option for keeping their pools clear, sparkling and ready for a splash-filled summer season.

Mr. Wizard Pool Service & Repair opened its doors in January 2013 with the goal of giving pool owners more time in their pools rather than working on them. The San Tan Valley-based business also serves most of the East Valley and provides a wide range of cleaning and repair services. Owner Kyle Taigen has worked on pools since he was 16 and knows what it takes to succeed in the industry.
