Crews begin drilling work on State Route 24 today

by: ADOT

Construction is underway on a one-mile stretch of new freeway in Mesa

Work has begun on State Route 24, the newest freeway in the Southeast Valley, and today crews started drilling for the first pier of ramps that will connect State Route 24 to Loop 202 (Santan Freeway). Construction will continue through fall of 2013 on the first mile of State Route 24 from Loop 202 to Ellsworth Road.

In addition to the first mile of the new State Route 24, drivers can expect to see construction of new freeway to freeway traffic interchange ramps, widening of Loop 202 (Santan Freeway), new lighting along the Loop 202 and State Route 24, new signals at Hawes and Ellsworth roads, and new landscaping work.
