Protecting Criminal Cartels?

by: Senator Sylvia Allen

I was very saddened by my good friend (been friends for years) Bob Reveles’ very nasty article (“A Private Army Concocted Behind Closed Doors” Oct. 9) slamming Sheriff Babeu and me.  I’m not sure why Bob would defend and protect international criminal cartels?   My good friend Bob used Marxist Saul Alinsky tactics of attack instead of debating the facts.  So, here are the facts:

Fact – the international criminal cartel organizations are responsible for 50,000 deaths in Mexico.  I would think Bob would be very concerned about that.

Fact – the border has effectively moved 100 miles north into Pinal county.   Farmers and landowners are bearing the brunt of the traffic coming across their property day and night.

Fact – this traffic across the desert is creating environmental harm and leaving tons of trash for others to clean up.

Fact – drugs have become a plague and are costing taxpayers millions in healthcare, treatment programs, prisons, and the breakdown of families.

Fact – more and more evidence is surfacing showing the relationhship between the terrorist organizations and the cartels.

Fact – Sheriff Babeu has taken an oath to defend the Constitution and the laws of the State of Arizona.  He is doing his job!

Fact – those (like my good friend Bob) who are open border advocates are purposefully weakening our sovereignty as a nation and a state.

We have a right to protect ourselves against this invasion of illegal entry into our country and state.  I will never defend criminals who make billions destroying the lives, peace and safety of our citizens.  Again, my dear friend, Bob, why are you?
