An inside look

by: AJ News

Often times when we are on the outside looking in we don’t always see a clear picture or know the true intentions. Things can be deceiving. We see the smiles and hear convincing words that people would like us to hear.

When I first met Pat Prince I had the same impression as Ms. Sharron Gill (letter to the editor, June 9, 2012) and other fine citizens of Pinal County. I thought, “Here is someone who really cares.” It was when I got involved with COP and was on the inside looking out that I realized things weren’t all that they appeared and went against my values and as well as the PCSO values. When you have the opportunity to have direct contact and communication on a regular basis things become clearer.

I served honorably on active military duty (USAF) for 32 years and held many senior leadership positions. I have extensive training and experience, so I’m rather sensitive to deception and smoke screens. I have no political or personal agenda nor do I have anything personal against Ms. Prince.

To put it simple— I care about our future.

Since I don’t want to make this an “extra long letter” I’ll mention just a few facts of what I’m referring to and you decide.

At a December COP meeting, Pat Prince advised the group that a person she knows in Gold Canyon made a considerable contribution. She requested members increase patrols around this person’s home and immediate community. Conflict of interest? Unethical?

She fully supported Sheriff Babeu’s spending of Pinal County funds to take a contingent of personnel with him to St. Louis for his Sheriff of the Year Award presentation. Yes, she was one of those persons who attended. When she returned, she spoke to us about the fun she had and how much she personally gained by attending. Good use of our (county) resources?

In nature, a chameleon has the amazing ability to change colors to blend into its surroundings and hide.  In politics, I prefer to see the true colors.

God Bless America
