Well thanks to the University of Arizona, you have a chance to name an asteroid that an unmanned spacecraft will visit after 2016 and sample before returning to Earth.

A male suspect, out of Mesa, AZ, has barricaded himself inside a home near Skyline Ranch Elementary School.

MCSO is being assisted by PCSO and PCSO SWAT has responded.

The school was on lock down as was the entire area.  The school was released around 4:20pm and everyone was exiting to the east.  All roads were shut down off Agragrian Hills.

On Thursday night, Pinal County Deputy Robert Steele, 29, slammed into a pickup truck that was making an illegal U-turn U.S. 60, just outside of Gold Canyon.  The truck driver was killed on scene and the deputy was in serious condition.

The patrol deputy was travelling west on U.S. 60 and struck the side of a pickup truck making an illegal U-turn on U.S. 60 near Gold Canyon, leaving the truck driver dead and the deputy with serious injuries, authorities said.

A little over a year ago on August 11th, a San Tan Valley teen was lowering a lawnmower deck when his left hand slipped from wet grass into the path of fast-moving blades, severing his pinkie, ring and middle fingers.

Doctors deemed the fingers far too damaged to be reattached.

Johnson Utilities will be distributing a boiled water notice to businesses and residents in their service area tomorrow, Wednesday, August 22nd.

They have found E-coli bacteria in test samples taken in the San Tan Valley service area in two consecutive tests.

These bacteria can make you sick and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems.

The Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 & it's purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Sunday evening a strong monsoon storm blew threw San Tan Valley.  Roads all over the area were closed and many were left unable to get to/from their homes and work.

In addition to the inconveniences that many residents faced, another family is mourning the loss of their 2 year old little boy.

During the storm, the child was swept away in a wash behind the home.  A neighbor called 911 at 6:20 p.m to report the child missing.

A citizen on an ATV located the child and brought the child to emergency crews.
