Public Information Officer, PCSO
The Public Information Officer acts as a point of contact between the office and local, state and national media. Duties include media relations and the development of print, audio and video news items to be released to the public. The Public Information Officer advises management of community relations’ projects and activities and answer questions concerning the Sheriff’s Office from the public, media, employees and other jurisdictions.
Elias has an extensive media background and is a decorated graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he earned his degree in broadcast journalism. Elias has worked not only in the Phoenix media market as a reporter but also in his home state of Iowa.

Deputies Save San Tan Valley Man’s Life
A 63‐year‐old San Tan Valley man is alive thanks to two Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded first on scene with the right tools and training.
On 9/22/2012, at approximately 12:12 a.m., two deputies responded to a home in the 24000 block of North Mohave Lane in the Magic Ranch sub division, San Tan Valley, on a report the home owner was not breathing.
Once on scene the deputies located the unresponsive 63‐year‐old man and immediately began life saving measures. One of the deputies retrieved an automatic external defibrillator (AED) while the other began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).Casa Grande Teen Killed Following Two Vehicle Collision
A two vehicle collision Friday evening has claimed the life of a local teen.
On 9/14/2012 at approximately 6:24 p.m., a 2006 GMC pickup driven by Felipe Urias, 27, of Toltec, heading eastbound along W Peters Road, went through a posted stop sign at the intersection of Chuichu Road and struck a 1987 Ford Bronco, driven by Albert Arias, 17, of Casa Grande, heading northbound.

The Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force deployed a Saturation Patrol Detail for the 2012 Labor Day Holiday Weekend.

Two men responsible for stealing donation jars intended for a 7‐year‐old cancer patient from two separate San Tan Valley Walgreens have been identified.
On 7/22/2012 surveillance video from the Walgreens located at 3111 W Hunt Highway showed Peter Cardinale, 21, of Chandler, walk into the store and leave moments later after taking a donation jar left at the front register.
The donation jar was placed in the store by the 7‐year‐oldʹs parents who used the money to cover food expenses. Her picture and purpose for the funds were clearly marked on the containers.

Convicted in 1985 of 6 counts of child molestation/dangerous crimes against children, on a 6 year old who was known to him, had a mandatory release date in 1998.
Convicted in 2002 for failure to register as a sex offender.
PCSO Looking for Coolidge Man Tied to A/C Thefts
The Pinal County sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a Coolidge man tied to at least two thefts involving air conditioning units.
On August 4, 2012, a PCSO deputy responded to a home in the 12000 block of N Clemans Road, Coolidge, after the home owner reported someone had stolen her newly installed air conditioning unit.
