PCSO Looking for Missing Man with Dementia **FOUND**

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is searching for David Valdez (age 65).  David is a Hispanic male and was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, jeans and a “Yankees” baseball cap.  He left for a walk this morning with his blonde in color Chihuahua at 9:30 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from by family members.  David was last seen in the Red Rock subdivision off of Interstate-10 this morning.

 

His family is concerned due to the fact David is a diabetic and has stage three dementia.

If anybody has any information on the whereabouts of David Valdez they are asked to contact the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office at 520-866-5111.

Currently patrol deputies, members of our search and rescue team and our air unit are looking for David. When he is located I will send out a notification.

UPDATE

David Valdez has been found by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office Air Unit.  David had wandered into a desert area approximately five miles from his  home and was lost.  He is now being taken home to be reunited with family members.  Supervisors on scene said this case could have had a very tragic ending had it not been for the fact the air unit was able to locate him.  David had left his home without his diabetic medication and he has stage 3 dementia.

The PCSO Public Information Office is staffed by Tim Gaffney. The Public Information Officer act as a point of contact between the office and local, state and national media. Duties include media relations and the development of print, audio and video news items to be released to the public. The Public Information Officer advises management of community relations’ projects and activities and answer questions concerning the Sheriff’s Office from the public, media, employees and other jurisdictions.

The Public Information Officer also plans and coordinates the coverage of dedication ceremonies, press conferences, ground breaking ceremonies, conventions, meetings and arrange speaking engagements and tours. Additional duties include providing assistance to county personnel in writing speeches, preparing letters and drafting articles which are considered public information. PCSO’s Public Information Office promotes external and internal communication and strives for excellence in public relations.
