**UPDATE** Skyline Ranch Lock Down

A male suspect, out of Mesa, AZ, has barricaded himself inside a home near Skyline Ranch Elementary School.

MCSO is being assisted by PCSO and PCSO SWAT has responded.

The school was on lock down as was the entire area.  The school was released around 4:20pm and everyone was exiting to the east.  All roads were shut down off Agragrian Hills.

PCSO is asking everyone to avoid the area but is reassuring parents that their kids are safe.

As of 5:19pm, the scene was still active.  Boulder Creek Drive is also shut down and the suspect is still confirmed inside.

UPDATE

The suspect was 29 year old Mark Matheny, from Mesa who had fled from Maricopa County and was wanted in connection with the attempted murder of his wife.  Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Jones said he tried to hang himself before being taken into police custody. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
