Sheriff Babeu Presents Coolidge Youth Coalition with $5K Check


Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu is continuing his commitment to youth in the county by providing additional resources for a safe graduations.

On 5/29/2012, Sheriff Babeu spoke before the Coolidge City Council regarding PCSO efforts to support youth programs, including the Coolidge Youth Coalition which he presented with a $5,000 check which will be used to provide a safe and sober graduation celebration for graduating seniors.


The Coolidge Youth Coalition and the Drug?Free Communities Team, Michael Flores, II, and Sharon Schultz Boyd, accepted the $5,000 donation for CYC’s 9th Annual “Safe and Sober Grad?Nite” and Youth Leadership Programming for Coolidge youth.

“We could not host events such as Grad?Nite for our Coolidge High students without the help of our stakeholders like Sherriff Paul Babeu. These funds make it possible for our teens to choose healthy and drug?free activities and to encourage their peers to do the same,” said Sharon Boyd of the DFC Team. Michael Flores, II, Drug?Free Communities Coordinator added, “It is through donations such as yours that we are able to continue having a positive impact on our youth and community. This contribution will greatly enhance CYC’s efforts to provide leadership and a voice to our newly formed Coolidge Youth Council and Coolidge High SADD group as they tackle issues that affect their community.”

Sheriff Babeu said, “To date, PCSO has donated over $35,000 of seized criminal money under the RICO statue to area schools to provide a safe and sober environment for graduating seniors to celebrate their accomplishments. We will continue to support the efforts of organizations like CYC and all the great work they to do to support our future leaders.”
