‘Switching To Manual’ Camera Class

Course is Saturday, June 30, at arboretum

Gilbert artist Michael Madsen has traveled to Thailand, Mexico, Morocco, Jamaica and the Bahamas in search of the perfect picture.

On Saturday, June 30, he’ll coach beginner to intermediate photographers who are ready to bypass the auto settings in favor of controlling their own aperture, shutter speeds, ISO and white balance.

Meet the artist at June 9 reception, take photo workshop

Hummingbird photographs by Scottsdale artist Paul Landau leave you with the impression you're looking through a microscope -- even when capturing birds in flight, his focus is feather-crisp, the dynamic little birds' iridescent colors radiant.

Landau is June's guest artist in the visitor center gallery at Boyce Thompson Arboretum with a solo exhibition continuing through July; visitors are invited to meet Landau during his opening reception June 9, Saturday, from 1-3 p.m.
