The J.O. Combs Unified School District is excited to welcome over 4,500 students for the 2012-2013 school year. Combs High School serves students in grades 9-12, J.O. Combs Middle School, grades 7 and 8, and our elementary schools provide instruction for students in grades kindergarten-6th. All teachers in our district are appropriately certified and highly qualified and all classrooms are equipped with state of the art SMART Board technology.

At a time when local newspapers are struggling to stay alive, it is good to know that publications like the Queen Creek/San Tan Valley Independent are viable voices that provide taxpayers and citizens with im­portant news about their community.

J.O. Combs Superintendent Update

School and District News

1.      District enrollment is 4,461 students which includes Community Pre-K through Grade 12.

2.      Angel Madera, a 5th grader from Simonton Elementary won the District Spelling Bee held on January 24th. Tynan Cameron, a 5th grader from Harmon Elementary placed 2nd while Emmalee Flake, an 8th grader from J.O. Combs Middle School placed third. Alternates were Landon Weidner, a 5th grader at Combs Traditional Academy and Tristen Powell, a 7th grader from the Middle School. The Pinal County Spelling Bee will take place in Casa Grande on February 17th.

It was just a year ago that we opened the doors to the District’s first high school, Combs High School. How exciting it is to know that this school year we will welcome students in grade 11, and the following year will have our first graduating class.
