Poston Butte Student to Represent Arizona at National FBLA Conference

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Arizona offers more than 50 different competitive events ranging from accounting to website design and entrepreneurship to business graphics. In the recent statewide competition, 10 students from Florence and Poston Butte high schools in the Florence Unified School District placed in 7 of those categories. Karen Romero-Perez (PBHS) earned a second place finish in Word Processing and will be attending the National FBLA Conference in San Antonio, Texas this June, representing Arizona and Florence Unified School District.

Other winners include:

  • Ursula Perez (PBHS) – 3rd place – FBLA Principles and Procedures
  • Elyanaa Juarez (FHS) – 3rd place – Network Design
  • Cherie Warren (FHS) – 3rd place – Network Design
  • Eddie Mackay (FHS) – 3rd place – Management Decision Making
  • Zach White (FHS) – 3rd place – Management Decision Making
  • Nancy Perez (PBHS) – 4th place – Job Interview
  • Ileeya Hoeck – 4th place – Digital Design and Promotion
  • Mariana Huerta – 4th place – Digital Design and Promotion

FBLA seeks to develop leadership skills and interests in students at the high school and middle school levels, preparing them for careers in business.
