The Florence Unified School District announced today that Jennifer Pesato-Farrlley has joined the administrative team as the new Director of Curriculum. Ms. Pesato-Farrlley comes to FUSD with twelve years of teaching experience: six in New York and six in Arizona. Ms. Pesato-Farrlley obtained her National Board Certification in 2007. Her experience includes: Social Studies Advanced Placement (AP) Teacher, Coach, Advisor, and Facilitator.

Her experience with curriculum started in New York in 2000 when she participated in developing curriculum for the state of New York and for the Massapequa School District. After she moved to Arizona in 2005, she wrote curriculum for all social studies subject areas including AP World History, Psychology and Sociology for the Higley District.

Other strengths are: differentiated instruction, interdisciplinary learning, reflective teaching, and project based learning and assessments.

She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Jennifer Pesato-Farrlley replaces Linda Heath, who opted to return to the classroom in order to work directly with students again.
