At Coolidge Unified School District’s June 13th regular Governing Board meeting, the Governing Board was asked to vote on whether to adopt a resolution that would call for a special override election for the school district.
Superintendent Johnson and the District’s Director of Business Services, Shalee Ziegler, presented the Governing Board with information and a recommendation from a district and community exploratory committee and data from a recent survey taken of both the Coolidge and San Tan Valley communities.
The results of this survey were compared to the results from the same survey taken a year ago, and showed significant improvement in the communities’ responses regarding the school district and a possible budget override.
After reviewing the committee’s recommendation and the data from the surveys, the Governing Board voted unanimously to adopt the resolution, and will be calling for a ten percent (10%) Maintenance and Operations (M & O) budget override election this November.
