Graduating radiology technology students keep Central Arizona College streak, reputation alive
All 20 of Central Arizona College’s radiologic technology students have passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam, keeping intact the 100 percent success rate unfurled by CAC students when the program began six years ago.
The news was broadcast live to the audience by Frank Mollica, the director of diagnostic medical imaging, during the fourth CAC Radiologic Technology Pinning Ceremony held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Superstition Mountain Campus in Apache Junction, Ariz.Spirit of volunteerism propels Richard ‘Dick’ Myers onto CAC’s Wall of Success
Phoenix-born and Eloy-raised Dick Myers is driven by a spirit of volunteerism. When one considers that his grandfather aided in the incorporation of Eloy, his mother was a member of the local auxiliary, and his father was a charter member of the Eloy volunteer firefighting force, one might rightfully say this spirit is firmly embedded into his DNA.
“It’s been part of a family tradition,” Myers said. “I started clear back with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and I’ve just about spent a lifetime volunteering in one organization or another.”Pence Center plays host to the 2012 Wild & Scenic Film Festival Nov. 8 at the Signal Peak Campus
The 2nd Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival arrives at Central Arizona College’s Don P. Pence Center for Visual & Performing Arts on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Signal Peak Campus.
The series of 11 award-winning, short documentaries range from two to 54 minutes and is designed for guests to pick and choose which films they would like to see. Guests are more than welcome to stay for the entire screening that begins at 5:30 p.m. and concludes a little after 9 p.m.Anthem K-8 nips Copper Basin K-8 for CAC Superstition Mountain Campus Middle School Math Contest title
Anthem K-8 combined a subtracting defense with an integer offense that multiplied the effect of a co-efficient drag on the opposition’s variables to edge intra-district rival Copper Basin K-8 for the 2012 Central Arizona College Superstition Mountain Campus Middle School Math Contest Championship.
Anthem claimed the 10-team event by capturing first place honors in the team competition, the individual event, and in the over school average, forging a 9-8 win over Copper Basin. J.O. Combs Middle School was third.- Central Arizona College

After serving in the role as interim president/CEO for the past year, the Pinal County Community College District Governing Board unanimously selected Dr. Doris Helmich as the next president/CEO of Central Arizona College.
The decision came during a Pinal County Community College District Governing Board special meeting held on Monday, Oct. 1, at CAC’s Signal Peak Campus following a nationwide search.CAC Student Art Gallery unveils latest creations during show opening Oct. 11
The student artists of Central Arizona College will unveil their latest creations on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the opening of their next exhibit in the CAC Student Art Gallery on the Signal Peak Campus.
The reception will run from 3-4 p.m. at the gallery which is located in the Sizer Building (N) directly across from the Don P. Pence Center for Visual & Performing Arts.CAC rodeo team rides into the Aravaipa Campus Oct. 19
The Central Arizona College rodeo team will saddle up and ride out to the Aravaipa Campus on Friday, Oct. 19, for a community show that is free to attend.
The special event will take place from 12-1 p.m. and will allow visitors to meet members of the team in person.
The Vaqueros and Vaqueras will display their roping skills to the public during the one-hour show. Anyone who loves horses, is interested in the Wild West, or is a cowboy or cowgirl at heart should make plans to attend.
