Central Arizona College presidential search timeline, community forums established

by: Tom DiCamillo

The Pinal County Community College District Governing Board members unanimously approved a timeline to select Central Arizona College’s next president.

The board adopted the recommended timeline during a special PCCCD Governing Board Meeting on Monday, March 5, at CAC’s Signal Peak Campus.

The process will begin with community and college employee conversations that will be held March 19-30 throughout Pinal County as the college seeks input from the community and its employees.

The open forums conducted for the community and the employees of the college will provide participants an opportunity to make direct input on the qualities they feel CAC’s new president should have.

The discussions will center on the desired background and experiences that candidates should possess. Experience in community activities, economic development, educational leadership, fiscal stewardship, facilities management and education background will be among the topics discussed.

Information gathered from all the forums will be consolidated and presented to the members of the Pinal County Community College District Governing Board for their process in establishing the presidential profile.

The profile will be the document used to search nationally for candidates and will be the guiding document applied by both the Presidential Evaluation Committee and the Governing Board in screening applicants.
